Requirements:
Registered nurses must hold one of the following qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing
- Associate Degree in Nursing
- Nursing diploma from an accredited and approved nursing program
- Valid nursing license
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule and to fill in when needed
- Ability to explain treatments and conditions to children of all ages
- Working knowledge of health care laws and regulations
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Observing and recording patient behavior
- Performing physical exams and diagnostic tests
- Collecting patient health histories
- Counseling patients and their families
- Educating patients about treatment plans
- Maintains a cooperative relationship among health care teams by communicating information;
- Administering medications, wound care, and other treatment options
- Interpreting patient information and making decisions about necessary actions, where appropriate
- Consulting with nurse supervisors and physicians to determine best treatment plans for patients
